Strate School of Design, Telecom ParisTech and Ecole Polytechnique, with the support of Carrefour, OTIS, la MAIF, InProcess and EMAKINA companies, launched EXALT Design Lab, the 1st joined research laboratory dedicated to the value of design in companies
Driven by Strate School of Design, EXALT Design Lab gathers 5 industrial partners (Carrefour, OTIS, la MAIF, Inprocess and EMAKINA) et 2 well-known research laboratories, Co-Design Lab (Telecom ParisTech), and the centre for management and economics research (Ecole polytechnique), committed together in a 4 year research program.
The EXALT Design Lab research program aims at developing solutions to integrate design at the heart of the partner companies’ strategies. In a world made of complexity and uncertainty, design is the key discipline (and expertise) to transform strategies, business models, create powerful experiences into more attractive and competitive ones; combined with humanity and sense.
The 5 PhD candidates will be hosted in companies through a French CIFRE contract. The research projects focus on modelling experience, building tools for design projects, enlightening the management models and value creation processes (including economical) fostered by design.
Based on these management and design sciences themes, the joined laboratory will organize workshops with the PhD candidates and the researchers.
The challenge for EXALT Design Lab, led by Strate School of Design (which trains 150 designers per year), together with the companies and academic partners, is to propose concrete and strategic answers to integrate design in organizations.
