PwC, École Polytechnique and Google launch the LEAD Academy

Demographic explosion, increasing urbanization, technological develop-ments, climate change, and resource scarcity are among the many external influences for which business leaders must prepare by putting an end to traditional value chains and shaping new growth models. To help business leaders acknowledge these changes and understand how business is impacted by these transformations, PwC, the global advisory leader, École Polytechnique and Google are launching a unique and innovative training program: the LEAD Academy (“Learn. Experience. Adapt. Disrupt”).

A unique program to prepare leaders of tomorrow
The LEAD Academy is aimed at high-potential individuals, considered as their firms’ prospective leaders, and fast-developing startup managers. Open to 60 participants per year, this program will help them anticipate and integrate innovative, regulatory and environmental transformations. It will give them methodological tools to boost innovation within their own companies in order to prepare them for the challenges of a constantly evolving economic landscape.

Bernard Gainnier, the President of PwC France and Francophone Africa, explains: “The ambition of the LEAD Academy is to prepare business leaders of French or foreign firms implanted in France for the challenges of a constantly evolving economic landscape. These transformations and ruptures affect technologies as much as they do the environment, regulations or the future of work organization. Thanks to the LEAD Academy, participants will learn how to drive innovation within their own firms to change these constraints into opportunities.”

Nick Leeder, the President of Google France, comments: “We are thrilled to join École Polytechnique and PwC to offer an audacious and complete training program to future company leaders and startupers, i.e. the LEAD Academy. Google’s contributors will be committed to sharing their experiences and providing decryption keys for numerical transformation, so that the participants can become real drivers of success in their companies”.

Frank Pacard, the Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Research of École Polytechnique, says: “École Polytechnique is proud to announce, alongside PwC and Google, the creation of the LEAD Academy, which will enable future leaders to face new economic, technical and societal challenges. This ambitious and unique training program benefits from the expertise of Ecole Polytechnique’s professors and researchers, and encourages leaders-to-be to capitalize on the disruptive technologies that are shaping the new economy”.

The LEAD Academy features a 100-hour, 10-month curriculum certified by École Polytechnique Executive Education as a part of its “Transformation strategies” program.

This inter-company and multi-track program created by École Polytechnique Executive Education, Google and PwC is structured around 3 learning formats:

  •  overview sessions to understand important topics and concepts;
  •  10-participant in-depth workshops to put the topics developed during the overview sessions into practice  through concrete situations proposed by entrepreneurs or academics;
  • exchange and creation in small groups, in which each participant implements what they have learnt in a business related issue. During these work sessions, the participants can exchange views with 10 sparring partners from different sectors to co-develop solutions for their own issues.

A 6-theme program led by high-level contributors

The formation revolves around 6 themes:

  •  Innovating in a Changing World;
  •  Technology as an Enabler;
  •  Doing Business within Earth’s Ecosystem;
  •  Navigating New Regulatory Frameworks;
  •  Managing Tomorrow’s Workforce;
  • Rethinking the Future of Business Models.

Animated by experts including academics, businesspeople and entrepreneurs, the LEAD Academy will also allow the participants to develop a high-powered professional network and to connect today’s and tomorrow’s leaders.
