Florence Hordern Appointed Director of Human Resources at École Polytechnique

Florence Hordern has been appointed Director of Human Resources at École Polytechnique, effective as of August 31, 2020. She takes on the role previously held by Pascal Roquain, who will take on a new role in another public establishment on September 15th. Florence Hordern reports to Nadine Brière, Director of Administrative Services, and will sit on the Executive Committee Board of École Polytechnique.
Florence Hordern’s role will include implementing École Polytechnique’s human resources policy, in particular regarding wages, career development, vocational training, and forward-looking workforce, jobs, and skills management.
Florence Hordern is a graduate of Institut d'Administration des Entreprises (IAE), and is a member of two different associations of human resources professionals – ANDRH (Association Nationale des DRH) and the DRH of French Business Schools. She began her career in 1989 at the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the International Relations department, and from 2001 to 2005, she held the position of Career and Job Management Consultant in the education sector. In 2005, she became Head of Human Resources and Development at the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 2006, Florence Hordern was appointed Director of Human Resources at HEC Paris. Nine years later, she joined Médecins du Monde France, where she was in charge of managing the NGO’s social relations and human resources in France and abroad. In 2018, she continued her career with Action contre la Faim France, another international NGO, and then became Head of the Human Resources Department at Institut Catholique de Paris in April 2019.
