Boards and Committees

The École Polytechnique leadership team is composed of several Boards and Committees, namely: the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, the Academics and Research Council, the Pre-Planning Committee, and the Post-Planning Committee.

The Board of Directors
Led by the President, the Board of Directors is composed of the Director-General, representatives of the State, faculty members, students, alumni, leading figures from higher education and research establishments, and top executives from public and private organizations.

The Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is composed of eleven members, including the President, the Director-General, and the Vice President for Academics and Research.

The Academics and Research Council
The Academics and Research Council advises the President of the Board of Directors on all aspects of the school's development in academics, research, and innovation. The Council provides remarks and suggestions to constantly improve and evolve the school's academic programs and curriculum. It also guides the school's strategies in promoting research and innovation.

The Pre-Planning Board
The Pre-Planning Board informs the Board of Directors on their decisions relating to the competitive entrance exams (test structure and organization, selection of examiners, seat distribution by subject and category) and presents the performance report of the preceeding year's entrance exam. It stays abreast of the expected changes in preparatory classes as well as in the École Polytechnique curriculum.

The Post-Planning Board
The Post-Planning Board reports to the École Polytechnique Board of Directors. It analyzes the needs and expectations of the future employers of École Polytechnique graduates - businesses, administrative offices, research organizations - and advises the Board of Directors. It provides suggestions and opinions regarding the various academic programs and the students' employability and preparedness for their careers according to the evolving demands of the business world.
